The Problem
Russia has one of the highest rates of alcoholism in the world, a serious problem with drug addiction among teens and the fastest rising rate of HIV/AIDS among European countries. In addition, an enormous need exists in Russia for churches. Of the 142 million people living in Russia, only 1 out of 100 would identify themselves as committed followers of Jesus.
We believe Jesus is the hope of the world and can transform any person’s life, but what if a person does not know him? That is the real problem.
For ‘Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’ But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? (Romans 10:13-14)
The Solution
Plant churches, train leaders, transform lives!
We share the passion of a first-century church planter: “Our ambition is to preach the Good News where the name of Christ has never been heard, rather than where a church has already been started by someone else. So that ‘Those who have never been told about him will see, and those who have never heard of him will understand.’”(Paraphrase of Paul's words in Romans 15:20-21)
Russia is the world’s largest country extending across 11 time zones. In terms of people, it the seventh most populated country with nearly 3 out of every 4 living in urban centers. More churches, leaders and transformed followers of Jesus are needed in more places!
We are committed to being a catalyst for a multiplication movement of new churches being planted around the world among Russian-speaking people as a part of the fulfillment of Christ's commission in Matthew 28:18-20.
The Opportunity
God is a sending God. He sent his Son, Jesus, to rescue all people from eternal separation from him. Jesus in turn sends people, like you, with a heart for God and others to take his message of life-giving hope to the unreached people of our world. That includes those in Russian-speaking communities.
Our vision is to plant 10 new churches in the next decade that in turn will plant many more churches as well as send teams of missionaries to plant churches among other unreached people.
