Expanding Our Potential

Scott LaRue set to become the first Executive Director of Russian Outreach Network

Expanding Our Potential

In view of our desire to expand this church planting ministry, at a recent meeting in September, the Leadership Team hired Scott LaRue as the first Executive Director of Russian Outreach Network. His will officially start on January 1, 2012. He comes with over 20 years of mission's related experience having served for 18 months in Japan and nearly 12 years in Russia. Over the years, he has been involved in 10 different church-planting ventures. Scott and his family are excited by the potential. "I believe God has made me to be engaged in missions and my wife and I have a heart for Russian-speaking people. We look forward to being a catalyst to help more churches be planted, more leaders trained and ultimately more lives transformed by the message and love of Jesus."

The addiition of Scott will significantly help us to do more church planting and leadership training in Russian-speaking communities and to pursue our vision of seeing a church-planting movement launched.

The LaRue's are taking a big step of faith but are confident God has called them into this work. Knowing the mission's leadership requirement to raise their own support for their family, they have not hesitated to step into this new venture. In their words, "We have seen God provide in amazing ways in the past and are confident he will again."

Scott is in the process of transitioning from a Teaching Pastor role at The River Christian Church in Fort Wayne, IN. He will continue to help that church in their mission and outreach efforts while serving with Russian Outreach Network. The River is taking on a portion of the LaRues' financial support and also partnering with our mission to provide office space for Scott in their Fort Wayne facility.

Scott is also actively seeking people and churches to partner in providing prayer and financial support, so he can engage in this ministry full time starting in January.

If you would like to know more about becoming a partner with the LaRues in this church planting ministry, you can contact Scott directly by email or by calling 260.415.2261.
